THE IRON RANGE COMMUNITIES
The iron range communities of Coleraine, Bovey, Marble, Calumet, Nashwauk and Keewatin are all historic mining communities that either have active, inactive and reclaimed mining land. The reclaimed land is used for many different outdoor recreation lakes, trails and parks. Like the Mesabi Trail which runs from Grand Rapids through all of these iron range communities. The rich mining history has created new businesses, a Minnesota winery, bars and restaurants.
